The benefits of working digitally
1. Information becomes more accessible.
2. Information from the exchange (internal and external) becomes the results.
3. Large listed information sharing becomes known.
4. Analyzing information is produced.
5. Working digitally is better for the environment.
6. Digital information has been shown to be automated.
7. Working digitally means fewer costs for copying and physical storage.
8. Digital information can therefore be found.
9. Digital information can be visibly stored in various “locations”.
10. Working digitally makes a company advertise for (young) employees, partners and possibly also customers.
Speed and ease
Especially the speed and ease of information from the exchange is a big advantage of working digitally. This not only has advantages for you as an entrepreneur and internally for your employees, but also for related exchanges of information with accountants, banks, the tax authorities and as a result. More and more goes digital. For example, the government, in collaboration with market parties, has decided to introduce standard business reporting (SBR) as a mandatory standard for digital data exchange. The Tax Authorities, the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Chamber of Commerce, banks, accountants, administration offices and software suppliers all use SBR as of 2013 to exchange data online.
Research by PriceWaterhouseCoopers shows that on average a company:
• Make 19 copies of each paper document
• spend 20 euros to store every paper document
• Spend 120 euros on searching for any incorrectly saved document
• 25 hours is spent restoring every lost document
• 10 percent of revenue is spent on processing information
• 7 minutes of searching and restoring a document
By digitizing your business processes you can easily save on this.
For example, to enter an invoice, someone takes 30 seconds on average, with digital processing thisis reduced to 2 seconds per invoice. You also make fewer mistakes.
When entering invoices manually, an error of 3.7 percent is entered, while for digital processing this is an average of 0.6 percent.
Check and link
In addition, it is easier to check matters. Because information is made available digitally, it is easy for you and all kinds of organizations to gain access to it (once you have granted this access).
This creates the possibility of easier checking. By linking data files together or creating specific profiles, it is possible to better control the behavior and performance of people and organizations.
Once your documents are digitally available, you can get them to the right place easier and faster and, if they are online (in the cloud), you have access to your documents everywhere. If you link this to other (online) software solutions, such as cash flow and payment programs, then you are completely digital and you have your entire ‘office’ always and everywhere within reach.
