Development Simulation Summit(DSS) is a 2-days event with local & international speakers and practical exercises to stimulate the participants to think outside of their own comfort zone. The goal of DSS is to have the participants come up with practical, easy to implement solutions to daily challenges that other members of our community experience. The challenges can be from being chronically ill, being homeless, being abused or to have no means to buy the basics to provide food for their families.
As mentioned previously, during DSS the participants will have to solve challenges that they encounter. This will be done by means of an Interactive Poverty Simulation. The simulation will push the limits of the participants to think quickly on their feet, solve challenges and answer questions that people living in poverty ask themselves on a daily basis. Each decision the participants make during the Interactive Poverty Simulation, will have consequences for their family throughout the remaining of the simulation.
Together with our Key note speakers we are afterwards going to come up with solutions that are sustainable and easy to implement for the coming year by members of our own community. The implementation of these solutions will be showcased throughout 2019. At DSS 2019 we will also discuss the solutions that couldn’t be implemented and the reasons therefore.
As extra bonus DSS 2018 will serve as a teambuilding for the participants of any community in order to being more resilient in building stronger communities and business environment.
