ICT-Analyst

BOPEC N.V. is an oil terminal, located on the island of Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean and forms part of the Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) holding. BOPEC NV aims to temporarily store liquids from bulk or raw materials for the petrochemical industry.

For the ICT-department Bopec NV requires the following professional:

 ICT-ANALYST

Task:

• Performs system administrator task such as the provision of support to LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. Installing and maintain network hardware and software. Maintaining system efficiency. Monitoring of networks to ensure security and availability to specific users. Evaluates and modify system’s performance. Makes recommendations for future upgrades. Determines network and system requirements. Maintains integrity of the network, server deployment, and security. Designs and deploy networks. Assigns routing protocols, routing table configuration and configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services. Maintains network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers. Maintains network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection system, etc.
• Performs help desk services such as troubleshooting of problems reported by users, ensure live data for PDVSA, etc.
• Is responsible for the Internal and External telecommunication services, including management of providers;
• Serves as the contact person between Bopec NV and headquarters of PDVSA ICT Department for Server and application Support;
• Is co-responsible for the ICT Budget/Administration wherefore participate in long range planning process, reviews and authorize invoices within spending authority, works closely with administrative staff for clerical assistance, research and develop alternative funding opportunities as directed.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Has a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent higher education degree in ICT domain (Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer science or similar field). Post Graduate or Master’s Degree is an asset.
• Has a minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT, electronics or similar position.
• Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience on Telecom (VHF, HF, VSAT, Radio).
• All additional certification and training in work field are an asset.

Profile of candidate

• Speaks and writes fluent Business English, has working knowledge in Spanish, is capable to communicate in Dutch and Papiamentu.
• Must have initiative and be self-reliance, analytical, should have problem solving skills and must be a team worker.
• Accurate, proactive, high ability to deal with stress and different cultures.
• Ability and possibility to work over hours, no 7:30 AM to 16PM mentality.
• Committed to continuous quality improvement and compliance.
